Check digit indicator

This can be used to check the validity of fields 6 to 9. It is set out to one of the 11 letters of the alphabet in the range A to L (excluding I) in accordance with the following procedure:

Collection District Indicative -- a bc de fg h, where

a = State Code
bc = Census Division Code
de = Census Subdivision Code
fg = Collection District Code
h = Check digit indicator

Calculate T1: (gx2) + (fx3) + (ex4) + (dx5) + (cx6) + (bx7) + (ax8)

Calculate T2 = Remainder of Tl/ 11

Select the value of h corresponding to T2 from the following table:
